Touriya Haoud (born in Rhenen, Utrecht, the Netherlands on October 1, 1977) is a Dutch actress, model and singer. Soon after graduating the private University of Schoevers with a Communication degree a friend persuaded Touriya to participate in a modeling contest which started her modeling career.
Modeling career
Touriya then traveled Europe for the next few years, landing European campaigns with Tommy Hilfiger and Replay.
In 2003, Touriya succeeded Naomi Campbell as one of the two new faces for the TIM campaign advertising Italy's leading telecom network. In Fall that year Touriya also performed as the leading character in the new Campari commercial for both Italy and Germany. In spring 2004 she featured as one of the two models who appeared in the global campaign for Replay. This campaign lasted until Fall 2004.
As an international model, Touriya has graced the covers of Harper's Bazaar, Donna, GQ (Gentlemen's Quarterly), Max and Vogue Gioielli.
She was on the cover of the June 2005 edition of Playboy Netherlands.[2]
Filming
In between her modeling, Touriya took various acting classes and landed a lead role in the popular Dutch television series "Hartslag" (the Dutch version of ER). She also played in one episode of the Dutch television series "Costa".
In the winter of 2003 she landed one of the leading roles in the highly acclaimed Dutch independent movie Shouf Shouf Habibi! (Hush Hush Baby). This movie was accepted to the Berlin International Film Festival and honored with the Public Choice Award. The movie has been sold to more than forty countries and fifty-one festivals worldwide. It was screened at the Vancouver International Film Festival and scored positive remarks amongst critics.
She has also acted in various video clips and television shows.
Her first U.S. movie is Five Fingers (2006 film). As one of the main characters, Touriya plays Ryan Phillippe's fiancée Saadia, just before he is abducted by terrorist Laurence Fishburne.
Following the wrap of shooting Five Fingers (2006 film), she moved to Los Angeles in April 2005. Currently, she can be seen in national commercials for Budweiser Select, TAG Body Spray.
Personal
When she's not working, Touriya enjoys reading a good book, cooking up her favorite Macedonian and Moroccan dishes, traveling around the coast of California or giving time out to help some of her favorite organizations, "Orange Babies", in South Africa.
On June 4, 2006, she married American actor Greg Vaughan. On December 16, 2006, Touryia and her husband Greg Vaughan announced that they are expecting their first child in due in late-spring 2007.
On Friday May 4, 2007 their son Jathan James Vaughan was born. In July 2009 Greg Vaughan announced that they are expecting their second child.
