Cynthia Myers (1950-2011) was an American adult model and actress, and Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for December 1968. The first Playboy centerfold born in the 1950's Cynthia's centerfold was photographed by Pompeo Posar shortly after Cynthia's 18th birthday. She has been called the most famous Playmate of the 1960s, and remains one of the most famous Playmates of all time. In Playboy's Top Ten Centerfolds of the Century she ranked #10. Her tremendous popularity is largely the result of her breathtaking proportions -- a petite 5' 3" with slim 24" waist and a 39" F-cup rack.

Career

After her Playboy magazine debut, Cynthia made frequent appearances on the Playboy After Dark TV series in 1969.

Myers also appeared in a handful of movies. She made an uncredited appearance in They Shoot Horses, Don't They? before taking the leading role of the sensitive lesbian rock and roll singer and bass player Casey Anderson in Russ Meyer's Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. She followed this with a supporting role in the Western, Molly and Lawless John (1972).

During her time in Hollywood, she dated several actors including Burt Lancaster, Michael Blodgett and Bob Fuller before retiring from motion pictures to concentrate on her education and her personal life.

Later years

In 1994, Cynthia made a number of appearances at autograph shows. During the late 1990's, she also briefly returned to school, taking classes in theater arts at Antelope Valley College.

In 2000 she shot new topless and nude photos for a Playboy retrospective. She had left open the possibility that she would pose nude again.

Cynthia had resided in southern California with her husband, whom she met on a fishing trip to Lake Mead, Nevada in 1981, and their son, Robert. She continued to model, ran a website featuring her work, and was about to appear in a feature film, Please Sign it Love.

Cynthia died of lung cancer on Friday, November 4, 2011.
