Madonna (born Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone on August 16, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan, United States) is a famous American singer and actress.

Bust Size

No stranger to worldwide attention seeking, Madonna has perennially showcased her modest breasts as well as her religious beliefs[citation needed] and sexuality[citation needed], especially from 1984 till 1985 when she was fifteen pounds heavier[citation needed] and therefore comparatively bigger chested. Her measurements from this era in regards to her chest are usually referenced to this day[citation needed] despite her breasts being visibly much smaller looking following her now legendary weight training/cardio makeover in 1986.[citation needed] In pre-1984 during her early days as nude model and fledgling singer her breasts were also considerably smaller looking.[citation needed] Her current breast size after over 25 years of daily fat burning endurance training and rigorous muscle building weight workouts appears to many breast connoisseurs as being closer to a small B cup.[citation needed]

Body Type

Although Madonna's public relations has long claimed she has any hourglass figure with a hip to ratio of 0.70[citation needed] it is also clear to even her most ardent fans that this is not the case.[citation needed] Madonna is known for her very flat athletic stomach and very narrow hips.[citation needed] Her body is actually the complete visual opposite of even a petite hourglass figure (eg: Jennifer Love Hewitt). In the 2002 box office failure, "Swept Away" as well as her very early nude studies, Madonna's unpadded and unretouched figure can be seen in a very small bikini as tiny breasted and narrow hipped with a proportionally built up athlete's waist.[citation needed]

Modelling work

Madonna has worked with many of the world's most famous photographers, such as

  • Bettina Rheims
  • David LaChapelle
  • Helmut Newton
  • Herb Ritts
  • Jean-Baptiste Mondino
  • Luis Sanchis
  • Mario Testino
  • Matthew Rolston
  • Patrick Demarchelier
  • Steven Meisel

Madonna is known for frequently changing her look and clothing style as well as playing with taboos, which often lead to the revival or creation of fashion trends. In 1987, for example, she re-introduced fishnets which had been out of fashion at that time.[2][3] On October 21, 1992, she published her book Sex which showed her in provocative and fetish-related poses photographed by Steven Meisel. The pictures contained nippleless, open bust and other PVC and leather clothes, with allusions to BDSM, bondage and watersports.[4]

The history of Madonna's style also shows many links to haute couture fashion. In her 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan, she wore a corset dress by Jean-Paul Gaultier — the designer who later created the costumes for her 1990 Blond Ambition tour.[5] The Cone Bustier of this tour became so famous that it was even shown in exhibitions at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2000 and 2002[6][7] and is considered Gaultier's "most famous contribution to modern fashion".[8] On September 24, 1992, Madonna also modelled for Jean-Paul Gaultier at a fashion show in Los Angeles, wearing an open bust pinstripe dress exposing her breasts. The show raised $750,000 for amfAR, the American Foundation for AIDS Research.[9]

Madonna also wore pieces of other haute couture labels at various occasions, for instance Dior, Dsquared2, Dolce & Gabbana and Versace.[8] On May 21, 2008, she visited the premiere of I Am Because We Are at the film festival in Cannes, France,[10] wearing a black and silver sequined see-through dress from the spring 2007 couture collection by Chanel.[11] In late 2008, she posed for an advertisement of Louis Vuitton, shot again by Steven Meisel.[12]
